Writing to the Minister

Anyone. You do not need to be a resident of a particular district or hold any document to write in. Residents of West Bengal, people from the state living elsewhere, and organisations may all submit a matter.
What does the 48-hour commitment mean?
It means a substantive first response within 48 hours of submission — an assessment of your matter and what the office is doing about it, not merely an automated acknowledgement. Complex matters may take longer to close, but you will always know where they stand.
Is there a fee?
No. Writing to the office, tracking your request and receiving a response are entirely free. No one is authorised to charge you for any part of this process.
In which language should I write?
Bengali, Hindi or English. Write in the language you are most comfortable in — the desk reads all three.
Tracking and follow-up

Use the reference number issued at the time of submission on the Track Your Request page. It shows every step — received, screened, assigned, replied and closed.
I have lost my reference number.
Write in again with the same phone number and a description of your earlier submission. The desk will locate the original matter rather than opening a duplicate.
What if I do not hear back within 48 hours?
Submit a follow-up quoting your reference number. Delayed matters are escalated within the office and reviewed directly.
Documents and privacy

Yes. You may upload PDFs, images and document files with your submission. Each file may be up to 10 MB. Attach applications, receipts, order copies and photographs wherever they support your matter.
Who can see my documents?
Only the officials handling your matter. Submissions and attachments are stored securely and are not published or shared publicly.
Will my name be made public?
No. Personal details are visible only to the handling officials. Where the office publishes any outcome, it does so without identifying the citizen unless you have asked for it.
